What does PVD Coating mean?
PVD, Physical Vapour Deposition, is a process that many manufacturers use for coating metals such as titanium and stainless steel. The technique involves “blasting” the gold onto another metal at a high temperature. During the process, the gold moves from a condensed vapour phase to a thin solid (real 18K gold) film.

Why did we choose PVD coating for our Minki Jewellery?
We chose to use PVD gold coating for ultra long-lasting wear, which is approximately 10 times thicker than regular gold plating and it is more affordable.

What is Hypoallergenic?
This implies that your MINKI Jewellery will not cause skin irritation, a common concern associated with jewellery manufactured from alternative materials and metals.

Is our Minki Jewellery made with sustainable material?
Yes, our jewellery range is manufactured using certified 100% recyclable stainless steel.

Is our Minki Jewellery Waterproof?
Yes, although PVD coating is waterproof, our jewellery is coated with an extra waterproof layer on top of the PVD coating. This means it is far more long-lasting and better quality due to the waterproof layer added and tested by salt spray, ensuring a superior quality offering. This allows you to have the freedom to swim, bath, shower, sweat and it won’t tarnish or discolour your jewellery.

Is your Minki Jewellery durable?
Yes your MINKI product is durable. Stainless steel is recognised for its inherent strength and durability, distinguishing it from, and exhibits resistance to easy scratching.

What does tarnish free mean?
Stainless steel jewellery with PVD gold plating is naturally tarnish free ensuring your jewellery will maintain its original condition if treated with care.

Can I return an item?

How much does delivery cost?
Shipping throughout South Africa is R99 for standard delivery shipping, which means delivery time is 3-5 business days. How do I take care of my Minki Jewellery?
For extra care, rinse with lukewarm water and dishwashing liquid to remove any chlorine, salt or hard water deposits that could potentially build up on the surface and damage or dull the PVD coating over time. After you’ve rinsed it, polish your jewellery item with a soft cloth. When you are not wearing your MINKI jewellery, it is advised to keep it in your MINKI silk pouch or wrap it in tissue paper for optimal preservation.
